From Tynesidei) From Gateshead, take A1 North past MetroCentre.Exit on SECOND LEFT after MetroCentre turn-off - taking the A496 to Consett. ii) On exiting the A1, turn RIGHT at FIRST ROUNDABOUT, and STRAIGHT ON at SECOND ROUNDABOUT - still towards A496 to Consett. iii) Drive straight through Rowlands Gill - still following Consett sign. iv) At end of Hamsterley Mill, turn LEFT up bank on the B6310 to Consett/Medomsley. (v) When passing through Medomsley, the road turns into the B6308 to Consett. (vi) Pass the No.1 Industrial Estate on the left.  (vii) At roundabout, turn RIGHT onto the A691, and as you pass Consett Golf Club going down the bank, turn left onto The Promenade. (viii) Drive along The Promenade - right to the end (at which point it is known as "Aynsley Terrace" (ix) Strathmore Homes' "Consett Park" development can be seen on the right. From Durhami) From Durham City - crossing main River Wear, take FIRST RIGHT at ROUNDABOUT to Consett, following the A 691 as you drive.iv) At top of bank, turn LEFT at roundabout, still following Consett signs on A691. v) [ Drive along A691 some 10 miles, past Witton Gilbert and Lanchester. vi) Three miles after Lanchester, pass the "Pavillion" Chinese restaurant (on right) and Leadgate Industrial Estate - see Royal Mail sorting office. ] vii) At first ROUNDABOUT signed A692 - TURN LEFT to Consett. (x) At next ROUNDABOUT (Filling Station) drive straight on, past the Fire Station to the third ROUNDABOUT where you drive straight across down the A691, and as you pass Consett Golf Club going down the bank, turn left onto The Promenade. (xi) Drive along The Promenade - right to the end (at which point it is known as "Aynsley Terrace" (xii) Strathmore Homes' "Consett Park" development can be seen on the right. |
